Camping Trip 2011

So this past weekend we went camping with the Woody and Smith families. I had a lot of fun but I'll be honest, I was EXHAUSTED by the time we returned home. Caroline was the easiest child for this trip. SJ, on the other hand, was ridiculously tiring. I mean, crazy ridiculous.

17 month old kiddos don't understand how to sleep when they're cold. They don't know that they should just pull a blanket over them, to cuddle up with the warm fleece, think happy thoughts and drift back to sleep. Nope, instead my girl thinks she should stand up and sing at 2 in the morning. And again at 3 AM. Then why not continue singing at 4:30 AM? Finally around 5:30 AM she decided she needed to go back to sleep. But only after I snuggled her between Daniel and myself on our nearly deflated air mattress. Speaking of nearly deflated air mattresses...did you know they are the equivalent of those blow-up bouncy houses when the air is partially out? I learned that everytime Daniel turned over while fully deep in sleep...like loud full-on snoring sleeping. All that to say...I probably averaged 4 hours of sleep each night. Caroline, that sweet girl, slept 12 hours both nights. Love that!

So, not only does Sarah not sleep great, she also never rests. We had to keep our eye on her at all times. That's hard to do! Between keeping her out of the road and out of the fire, we had our hands full! The two almost 3 year olds seemed so much easier! Anyway, we had a great time and can't wait to go camping again! Maybe in the spring...maybe. Enjoy the pictures!

Check out our super cool blue fire! Bryan brought some cool packets that changed the color of the flames when placed on top of the fire.

The fun toy tent.

She loved climbing on and around the seesaw.
Sweet precious girls! Millie (standing) and Riley.
Don't they just melt your heart!
Daniel took the three most needy kiddos on a walk while the rest of us packed up. It was too hard to keep an eye on them and try to get packed up. Thanks D!
Pulling out of our campsites. Bye bye Devil's Den!

Look at all of that stuff!

Caroline's Baptism

We had sweet Caroline baptized this morning. It was such a sweet time and she was a rockstar! Thanks so much to everyone who gathered with us at church to celebrate this special day! (If you are wondering why we baptized her or what we believe about infant baptism, click here.)

Labor Day Weekend

We had a busy fun filled weekend! I didn't think "fun" was going to enter the weekend when it started off like this
and this...
Side Note: My girls do not sleep in the car...road trips are typically less than enjoyable. However, I will take great night sleepers and great nappers over car sleepers ANY DAY!

We dropped SJ off with Cmom and Grandfather for Friday and Saturday and let me tell ya, SJ was SOOOO excited to see them when we pulled up to their house. I love the bond SJ and Cmom have! SJ even got to ride alone with Grandfather to check on calves. I'm pretty sure she loved it!

After a quick bite for dinner, Daniel, Caroline and I headed to Lake Eufaula for some camping with my side of the family. This is how C woke up both mornings! Love!

Addie, Gracie and Maddie (not pictured) loved on Caroline this weekend. It was so sweet!
Staying cool in the camper with Grammy and Papa. (I reeeeally want a camper!)
Some of my cousin's kiddos! Aren't they cute and sweet!?

Gracie, Chayton, Brach, and Braxton

Sunday morning we headed back to Chouteau to see my Sar-bear. I really missed her even though we were only gone about 36 hours! Sarah was napping when we got there but once she got up she played hard!

Riding the 4 wheeler around the yard with daddy.

Aunt Betsy took Sarah on lots of walks around the yard and to visit some cows.

Thank you Cmom and Grandfather for taking care of SJ while we went camping! We are so thankful!

Climber!

The other day I walked in Sarah's room and found her sitting like this...

Somehow she climbed into the swivel rocking chair next to the changing table and then climbed onto her changing table. She's nuts! I also walked into the living room and found her doing this later in the week...

I'm afraid she's going to end up in a full body cast before she's one and a half!

Sarah!

She's learning so much and doing so much here lately! SJ can now throw things away for me, wipe her table clean, put toys away, cheesy-smile for the camera (as evidenced below), throw a ball and climb up and onto anything (please see tomorrow's post about that!).
She also likes to wear her tennis shoes to church...okay, she did not enjoy that but we lost her sandals and so this was the next best thing...

We love this little girl so much! However, she is into everything! While I'll admit that it drives me crazy most days, I have to remind myself that she will be out of this stage way too fast! I'm so sad thinking of her growing up and maturing so quickly.

This is how we swim...

Caroline in the water friendly moby wrap while I crawl around the baby pool trying to keep Sarah's head from staying under water. Fun times...I totally recommend one of those if you're going to have a young baby in the summer but still want to be at the pool with your older kids. Caroline actually slept while she was wrapped up! Thanks to Cat for letting me borrow it!

3 Months

Time sure is flying by! Here is what my little girly, Caroline, is up to these days!
-Sleeping about 10 hours each night.
-Eats about 6 times a day.
-Rolls on to her side from her back. She really wants to get to her belly!
-Coos, smiles, and chats while she's awake. Seems to be a super happy girl.
-Naps really well, two 2 hour naps and one 1 hour nap everyday.
-Getting a lot better at going right to sleep when we lay her down for the night between 7 and 8. She still gets that 10 or 10:30 night cap but I think we're about to drop it!
-HATES, hates, hates riding in the car...and I promise I'm not exaggerating.
-Enjoys sitting in her bouncy seat...she's able to see what's going on better!
