Happy Birthday, Carter!

The day after the ML concert we headed to Tulsa to celebrate my nephew Carter's THIRD birthday!  I cannot believe he is already 3.  I remember the day he was born and will never forget it because I had a sweet privilege to be in the room for his birth.  I also went home that evening and took my first pregnancy test ever and found out I was preggers.  Wow, that has been 3 years ago?!  Anyway, on to the pictures!

Miranda Lambert!

A couple Fridays ago Miranda Lambert came to town.  Molly, the ever resourceful and knows-everybody-in-the-room person that she is, was able to hook us up with free entrance to the concert!  When we talked about this August concert back in June I thought it would be miserably hot.  Well, we could not have asked for more perfect weather.  It was gorgeous that night and ML put on a great show!  Thanks for the hook up, Molly!

Laura and "Day Day"

One of my great friends came to stay with us a couple of weeks ago.  Laura and Dathan, or Day Day as SJ calls him, came to the states from Germany for a month while her husband was deployed with the U.S. Air Force.  It was SO GREAT to spend so much time with them.  Sarah, Caroline and Dathan played pretty well together.  Caroline tried so hard to keep up with the two bigger ones.  She was quite the trooper to put up with their hitting and pushing.  We loved having you, Laura and Dathan!  Can't wait to see both of you again in October!

Buggie

When my sister was a little girl she had the nickname Kati Bug. Once I had Sarah, Kati decided she wanted to be called Aunt Bug. I wasn't sure if it would stick. We say it often but not all the time to SJ. One day I heard her yelling "buggie, buggie!" I came in to see what she was yelling about and she was holding a picture of Kati Nd telling me it was Buggie. I love it! Here's a little video to show that off! Enjoy!

Singing

The girls have been "singing" in the car lately. It cracks me up! Caroline usually gets a super serious face when she sings. SJ just thinks of herself as cute. And, she's right.

The Pool!

Sarah, Caroline and I made it to the pool the other day and were the only people there for about 30 minutes. The only people that showed up later were 4 families that we are all friends with. Fun! SJ is so comfortable in both pools. She wears her puddle jumper in the big pool and loves to jump off the side and climb the ladder. Little Miss Caroline loves the water too! She is fearless. She climbs the ladder to the slide and slides down with nobody to catch her. It's amazing! She looks a bit ridiculous in her swim garb but she can be independent and keep her head up with all of it on. Makes both of us happy swimmers. :)

A little trip to L.A.

We headed to lower Arkansas the last weekend in July to visit Cmom and Grandfather. They retired and moved there in March. This was our first trip down. The five hour drive with two toddlers in Daniel's little company car was enough to make me scared of the trip. Add a potty trainer in to that mix and I was not looking forward to it at all. The drive ended up going smoothly. Caroline cried the first hour and Sarah cried the last hour. Not terrible but not great either. My sister loaned us her double DVD player so the girls had that to watch. Both slept at some point in the drive which was a wonderful little break! We had a really pretty drive so that was nice too! Oh, and I'm happy to report SJ had no accidents on the drive. Yay! We did pull over once and had to let her pee in a parking lot. Daniel held the potty seat and I held her on it. I wish we could have gotten a picture because I'm sure we looked hilarious!

Jim and Connie's land is so nice. They are on their own 300 acres with around 100 cattle. It was really green down there. The girls enjoyed rides on the ranger and visits with the family friends. Of course, Connie spoiled us all with wonderful meals every day. Wish they weren't so far away but we are glad we got to go visit!

I showed SJ a picture of my aunts, mom and me from my wedding so that she could learn everyone's names. She definitely has my name and my mom's name down. And I think my Aunt Susie just got named Aunt Su Su. Enjoy!
